Hear before you hurry
Strong musicians learn to notice pulse, pitch, colour and shape. Every task builds the ear as deliberately as it trains the hands.
Meet the principal instructor
Benedictus Acolatse is a Ghanaian music director and conductor based in Accra. His musical world spans the discipline of the concert hall, the colour of Ghanaian music and the patient, purposeful work of helping a young pianist grow.

The person behind the programme
As Musical Director of the Accra Symphony Orchestra, Benedictus has led work across classical and operatic repertoire, Ghanaian composition, African popular music and collaborative performance. Public coverage connects his leadership with a period of ambitious artistic development for the ensemble.
He has also represented Ghana's orchestra community internationally, joining leaders from around the world in conversation about the public value of orchestras. That breadth matters at My Piano Week: a lesson is never only about pressing the correct keys. It is about listening deeply, preparing responsibly and learning to communicate through sound.
Benedictus's teaching approach
The standard is high; the path is child-friendly. Lessons connect what a learner hears, understands, practises and performs.
Strong musicians learn to notice pulse, pitch, colour and shape. Every task builds the ear as deliberately as it trains the hands.
Posture, movement and fingering are taught with purpose, so healthy technique becomes the route to a more beautiful and confident sound.
Small weekly wins lead towards performance. Children learn how to practise, recover, communicate and take pride in being well prepared.
